The U.S. Forest Service on Wednesday launched the second phase of its largest ever prescribed fire in the Lewis and Clark National Forest.  Using a “helitorch,” the Scapegoat Wilderness was intentionally set ablaze at the confluence of Hoadley Creek and the South Fork of the Sun River, 25 miles west of Augusta. A helitorch is a specialized drip-torch, which dispenses ignited fuel, hung from a helicopter.
