apillon Airways has sent two helicopters, packed with supplies and food to the Navajo Indian Reservation that has been hit hard in the last four days by rainstorms.
With roads to and from the reservation washed out, more than 150 residents feared about how to receive much-needed supplies as storms continue to pound the area.Yesterday morning, the first set of Papillon helicopters reached residents, supplying them with needed supplies and animal feed. To assist with disaster relief, one helicopter was dispatched to Cameron, Ariz. and another to Tuba City, Ariz., both on the Navajo Indian reservation.
“We knew we could help and rushed to do our part,” says Brenda Halvorsen, president and CEO, Papillon Airways. “We will continue to roll up our sleeves and do what needs to be done until the storms pass.”
Papillon, the largest “flightseeing” tour company in the world, primarily brings tourists from around the world to Grand Canyon by helicopter, airplane and bus. That is why when the Navajos needed help, helicopters were immediately sent.
