Texas Aviation Services (TAS), a leader for over 39 years in helicopter and aircraft services, along with its in-country partner Sierra Aeronautica, announced today the outlook for 2010 deliveries into Brazil.

The year 2009 was yet another monumental year for Texas Aviation Services and Sierra Aeronautica. Together, exclusive teaming arrangements were reassigned, record deliveries were set, TAS achieved its Authorized Agusta Westland Service Center and the ANAC Repair Station was renewed.

Sierra Aeronautica remains the exclusive agent for Texas Aviation Services in the Country of Brazil and is based at Helicidade in the city of Sao Paulo. Through Sierra Aeronautica, TAS delivered multiple Agusta 109 Power and Grand completions, performed maintenance and overhauls for existing customers, and delivered several high-end heavy medium rotorcraft completions to include the AW-139 and EC-155. In October of 2009 TAS was certified as an Authorized Service Center for the Agusta Westland 139, A109 Series and the A119 Koala. In addition, TAS underwent a very detailed audit by Brazilian Civil Aviation Authorities and was renewed its ANAC Repair Station in August of 2009.

The two companies forecast the balance of 2010 to be just as monumental. One delivery a month is scheduled into Brazil and will include the Bell 206 series, Bell 407’s, Agusta 109’s, AW-139’s and multiple EC-155’s. The types of configurations will vary between VIP, Law Enforcement and offshore utility. As all TAS Brazilian completions, the aircraft will depart the Texas facility already Brazilian ANAC compliant; minimizing any delays into the country of Brazil. The ANAC Repair Station saves customer’s on average ninety to one hundred days of time once the aircraft arrives in Brazil. This time savings is so valuable, as many of the operators need the aircraft in service as soon as possible. Delays from importation and certification can cost companies millions of dollars in down time and/or contractual delays. These delays are minimized by TAS and Sierra Aeronautica through the ANAC Repair Station.

Marcos Braga, CEO of Sierra Aeronautica said, “I am very proud to have my personal name and organization associated with Texas Aviation. I believe in the quality product TAS provides and I am honored to provide this service to my clients and friends throughout Brazil”

John Murphey, CEO of TAS said: “We really look forward to the momentum established in 2009 carrying into 2010. TAS is committed to the Brazilian market through Sierra Aeronautica and we look forward to our continued support into Brazil for many years to come.”
