Zephyr International LLC has delivered and installed a State of the Art Rescue Hoist Test Facility to the US Coast Guard’s Support Facility in Elizabeth City N.C. The test facility is designed to operate and test the Rescue Hoists in use by the Coast Guard on their Jay Hawk and Dauphine helicopters.

The facility utilizes Zephyr’s patented Rescue Hoist Ground Support Equipment and incorporates sensors and software to operate the rescue hoists through their complete performance spectrum while displaying and recording the results of the tests. The system can operate the hoists while extending and retracting at full load and full speed over the entire cable length and also can perform a static load test of 1800 lbs to insure the rescue hoist slip clutch is operating properly. The system is also equipped with the MagSens wire rope inspection system.
