Belgium releases details of A109 display team for 2010

Belgium has for many years had a two-ship demonstration team comprising of two AgustaWestland A109BA helicopters.  This year is no exception, but the military command is clear that the two helicopters can be pressed back into military service on request, ready to intervene in various scenarios such as:

  • Peace keeping and enforcement operations
  • Help to the nation
  • Urgent humanitarian aid
  • Armed military engagement on the national territory
  • Evacuation of nationals from critical zones

The two pilots for this years team are:-

Igor CRAEGHS

  • Born in April ’73
  • Earned his wings in 2000
  • Total 2000 flying hours of which 1500 hours on A109BA
  • Flight leader and Full Mission Ready A109BA since 2003

Rutger ANDRIES

  • Born in November 1981
  • Earned his wings as military aviator in 2003 on Alouette II
  • Total about 1600 flying hours of which 1000 hours A109BA
  • Flight leader and Full Mission Ready on A109BA since 2004
