STAT MedEvac was recently recognized by HAI for their outstanding safety record for 2009. The award is given annually by HAI to its regular members who demonstrate an outstanding safety record throughout the year. “We are proud that we have met, and surpassed, the qualifying safety criteria for this award,” said Paul Lhote, Director of Safety for STAT MedEvac.

“This recognition is an honest reflection of hard work and commitment by our pilots, medical flight crews, maintenance technicians, and support staff; it is truly a group effort,” said Daniel Nakles, Manager of Business Relations and Development. “We had previously earned the HAI Operator Safety Award in 2008, and we are flattered to be recognized once again,” stated Nakles.

STAT MedEvac, a service of the non-profit Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania, Inc., provides medical helicopter transport to patients with critical illness and/or injuries. The organization, which operates seventeen base sites, is directed by a consortium of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) hospitals: UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and UPMC Mercy Hospital
