FLYING HIGHER – AL BROUSSARD, PHPA MEMBER, AND BELL 47 PILOT EXTRA ORDINAIRE
On Saturday, July 25, 2010, the PHPA lost a long time, true and valued member, Al Broussard from Granada Hills, CA. in a helicopter accident in Minnesota. Al got his wings in 1966 and has been flying and fixing aircraft ever since. He is a well known expert mechanic and is the go-to-person for rebuilding a Bell 47. His other passion is crop dusting. He faithfully went every year to the mid-west to help the farmers with their crops. He was in Rochester, Minn. when the Bell 47G4A helicopter he was flying failed and it went down in a grassy area between the crop fields. He is survived by his wife, Paula. He will be missed by all of us. (See this Article for more details: http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_15599983?source=email)
