Helicopter Museum ready to add an A109?

The Helicopter Museum, based in Weston-super-Mare in the UK is set to unveil a new exhibit tomorrow. Britain’s Tourism Minister John Penrose MP will be in attendance as Guest of Honour – he is also the local Member of Parliament for Weston-super-Mare. On 28th September story, he noted on his website of his “dismay as figures released show that the sea-side town ranked third in England for personal insolvency last year”, so let’s hope that this new exhibit brings a suitable lift to the Museum in these difficult times.

HeliHub.com is only able to speculate what the new item might be, as Museum General Manager Lee Mills advised us that he will only be issuing the press release about it after the unveiling is completed. However, our invitation states that Graham Cole, the Managing Director of AgustaWestland, is not only attending, but that his company is “sponsoring the exhibit”. Given that the Museum already has a prototype AW101 Merlin, our best estimate is that they are unveiling an A109.
