The aviation arm of the Kremlin has signified its intent to procure two Airbus A319 airliners and two AgustaWestland helicopters this year.  While the exact helicopter type is not mentioned, the tender documents stated a need to have them delivered in October 2011, with the jets following in December.  The presidential flight is also looking to acquire four newly built Mil Mi-8MTVs in October.

Until last year, the Kremlin had always bought indigenously produced aircraft and helicopters.  The acquisition of two Falcon 7X business jets in 2010 established the fact that they were happy to look outside their own borders.
