Over three months ahead of contract start date on 1st June, CHC yesterday air freignted the two AW139s it needs for the Woodside Energy contract in an Antonov An124 of Volga-Dnepr Airlines.  The pair had been delivered from the factory in Italy to CHC in the UK and then ferried to CHC’s Norwegian base at Stavangar for some final preparation work for their contract in Australia.  The UK CAA cancelled the two british registrations G-CGRG and CGRH as “sold to Australia” and HeliHub.com understands they will become VH-WEJ and VH-WEK respectively.  Some reports also say that Eurocopter EC225 flying on Nigerian registration 5N-BKH was due out on the same air freighter, but this has noe been confirmed.

The Woodside Energy contract was won by CHC from Bristow, and the Canadian headquartered company won the bid with four Eurocopter EC225 and two AgustaWestland AW139s.
