Supporters of one of the region’s largest charities now have a new way to help save lives across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance has launched a text-to-donate number making it simple for people to donate just a small amount of money to the charity wherever they are.

Supporters can now text the word ‘EAAA’ to 70777 and donate £1.50 to the charity with between 73% and 100%, depending on the user’s network operator, going directly to the organisation.

Steve Whitby, Deputy Chief Executive of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, said: “We’re tremendously well supported by the public in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, but we’re always looking for new ways to keep the funds coming in.

“Text-to-donate is a simple service which only takes a few seconds to do and the benefits of this service mean that you can donate from anywhere at any time.

“We have people regularly contacting us asking where their nearest collection box is or when our next event is so they can come along and donate.  This new way of giving means that you don’t even need to leave your own home in order to help us.

“Just a small amount can make such a difference to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and we’re grateful to everyone who donates to us no matter how they choose make their donation.”

Donating couldn’t be simpler.  Text EAAA to 70777 to donate £1.50 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and help the service save lives across the four counties it serves.

Texts cost £1.50 plus your standard network rate.  At least 100% from Vodaphone, 99% from O2, 94% from Three, 88% from Orange, 87% from Orange and 73% from T-Mobile will go to the charity.  Please ask the bill payers permission before sending a text message
