Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has signed a long-term agreement with Era Helicopters LLC (Era) of Lake Charles, La., to provide engine support for Era’s fleet of 70 P&WC-powered helicopters. The contract covers 150 installed PW200/PT6B/PT6C and PT6T engines, plus spares, for a period of 10 years. Pratt & Whitney Canada is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.

“This agreement allows Era to focus on its core business as it works with us to manage engine maintenance costs,” said Raffaele Virgili, Vice President, Customer Service, P&WC.

“We are well satisfied with these comprehensive, tailored maintenance solutions for our fleet, especially as we continue to diversify our services to clients around the world,” added Stuart Stavley, Vice President of Maintenance, Era helicopters.
Era is a major provider of personnel transport services to oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. It also provides a variety of related products and services, such as SAR/EMS, and has become a leading provider of leasing services.

With P&WC Engine Service Agreements, customers are able to fully capitalize on a team dedicated to total event management for each maintenance task by taking full ownership and closely tracking each event until the aircraft is back in the air. This brings together, in one team, the best expertise from across key P&WC front-line services.
