Guardian Mobility announced that its Board has appointed Howard A. Pearl to the Position of President and CEO to take over from founding CEO Jean Carr. Mr. Pearl has been mandated to achieve new levels of growth in the emerging market of aviation telematics first initiated by Guardian under the direction of Mr. Carr.

Mr. Pearl brings significant industry knowledge to the company with his background as a pilot and owner of a large FBO (Fixed Base Operation, aviation service provider) managing an extensive fleet of aircraft. Since then he has both founded start-ups and re-started existing businesses worldwide with the same end result – creating market leaders.

“The board is certain that Howard has the right experience to grow this company to its potential,” says Johannes Hill, Chair of the Board of Directors at Guardian Mobility “and the company is privileged to have captured the attention of such a successful and talented executive. During the short time he served on our board Howard impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the industry and his proven ability to grow small companies in multi-million dollar organizations.”

Mr. Pearl currently resides in China where he is successfully leading the consolidation of multiple manufacturing plants for Tuoma Industries, a major supplier of truck bodies to the Chinese market. Howard plans to move back to Ottawa over the coming months returning to the city he left nearly 40 years ago. When asked what intrigued him about the Guardian opportunity, he said, “I knew immediately, as a pilot, these products have a real impact on flight operations and the bottom line. Guardian’s solutions make flying safer by better managing aircraft maintenance, pilot communications and flight trend monitoring.” They also lower operating costs. That’s a recipe for success!
