On April 26, 2011 Aurora Flight Sciences will celebrate the delivery of the first CH-53K Helicopter Main Rotor Pylon (MRP) structural assembly to Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

The CH-53K helicopter will be the world’s premier heavy lift helicopter. The helicopter will provide the US Marine Corps expeditionary forces with heavy lift capability well into the 21^st century.

The April 26 delivery is the first of five MRP assemblies to be delivered as part of the CH-53K Helicopter System Development and Demonstration program. The MRP assembly section will be integrated to the CH-53K Helicopter Ground Test Vehicle (GTV) at Sikorsky’s Florida Assembly and Flight Operations (FAFO) facility located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
