For the European Premiere introduction and following the successful participation at the 2011 Heli-Expo, Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd. will unveil its brand new concept of helicopter to the Russian & European markets: the light single-turbine SKYe SH09, the next revolution in rotary aviation industry.

Between May 19th and May 21st, Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd. will be in Moscow at HeliRussia 2011, the 4th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition, with the target to present to all users and operators a full-size mock-up on BOOTH 3C.

Unveiling of the helicopter is planned with Swiss Precision at 11:45 AM on the 19th of May 2011. While the construction of the first prototype has started in the early part of 2011 and the planning for the first test flights of SKYe SH09 is targeted in the year 2012, Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd. has proudly announced the signature of Letters of Intent and confirmed interest from various helicopter operators and owners.

Positioned in the 2.5 metric ton class the SKYe SH09 new helicopter offers exceptional hot and high performance, a flexible engine concept and a low noise signature thanks to the newly developed dynamic assembly and a shrouded tail-rotor.

The modularity of the cabin makes the most of the flat floor and the unique high ceiling concept, offering multiple seating arrangements with 5 to 8 individual crashworthy seats and facilitated rear access loading through the clamshell doors for cargo and medical stretchers, both addressing the passenger transport and emergency evacuation roles of the helicopter.

Engineered using the latest technology in computer design, high tech materials and composites and benefiting from the extensive experience of the light to medium turbine helicopter market and the most up-to-date technology contributed to the development of an all new, state of the art helicopter design.

With a fast cruise speed of 270 km/h (145 knots) it will also offer very long range – in excess of 800km (430 nautical miles) with standard fuel tanks.

SKYe SH09 is of particular interest to operators who wish to avail of hot and high altitude performance, introducing a remarkably versatile machine with additional power, greater pay-load capacity, an augmented sling load capability and faster cruise speed.

An ergonomic design, a spacious cabin offering the most versatile platform has been engineered with the target of applying technologies such as electronically governed engines, ergonomically designed glass cockpits, spacious cabins with the application of high-tech materials – such as a full composite fuselage – all combined in one helicopter, for the first time in this market segment.

The SKYe SH09 helicopter combines a high level of systems integration with an extensive flexibility and cabin size. As a single platform, the helicopter will perform multi-role missions that currently required several different aircraft.

• Superior manoeuvrability with an advanced bearing-free rotor system with 5-blades in full composite, all of which will bring reduced maintenance requirements, low life cycle costs, low vibration levels and the highest degree of reliability and safety.
• A lightweight cell constructed of composite materials with high crash resistance (a technology utilized in the Formula 1 industry), excellent aerodynamics and the high ceiling optimized cabin configuration, unsurpassed, with regards to available space, ease of loading, in flight visibility and unrivalled comfort.
• A modern turbine with excellent fuel consumption, no hard TBO (Time Between Overhaul) and a modern FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) with advanced dual channel and with a manual backup provision. The Honeywell HTS900 engine incorporates a dual Centrifugal Compressor, bringing increased power output, reducing engine fuel consumption and providing for engine growth with the same compressor architecture.
• SKYe SH09 is fitted with a shrouded tail rotor resulting in reduced noise emission levels, low maintenance layout, high safety level as the risk of contact with obstructions or bodily harm is greatly reduced.
