Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) has agreed to an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with L-3 Warrior Systems, with plans to sign an expanded international agreement for aviation night vision systems that will encompass both civilian and military applications. In addition, the plans include ASU as the exclusive L-3 Warrior Systems distributor for both aviation and ground products in South America, Central America and Mexico.

“This agreement expands our ability to offer new and existing customers an extended line of products and emerging technologies in the field of night vision,” said Mike Atwood, founder and president of ASU. “We will continue to offer advanced night vision flight training, aircraft lighting modifications, system service, repair and training. This new relationship also enables us to offer customers a larger portfolio of night vision products globally. ASU clients demand the best products and services. We believe that L-3 Warrior Systems will offer us the best ability to serve the needs of our clients both now and in the future.”

L-3 Warrior Systems is a leading supplier of electro-optical and applied optics technology. Its portfolio of products includes the AN/AVS-9 aviation goggles, AN/PVS-18 submersible monocular and other leading night vision products. As part of the planned agreement, ASU will offer a broad selection of L-3 Warrior Systems tactical products, including multi-function aiming lights, lasers and holographic weapon sights.

“Over the last 15 years, ASU has proven that it is a global leader in night vision, and its reputation in the aviation industry speaks for itself,” said James Winkel, director of international business development for L-3 Warrior Systems. “ASU’s excellence in cockpit modifications, pilot training and customer service complements L-3 Warrior Systems’ technological distinction in night vision flight systems. We are very excited about this new relationship, which will benefit both of our companies and the industry on a global scale.”
