Two repossessed LongRangers sold from UK to Canada

Last month we ran an article on seven helicopters changing their address on the British CAA’s G- register to that of a finance company.  Two of the affected LongRangers have now been sold to Canada.

The two aircraft are

  • Bell 206L (serial 45077), previously G-OLDN – last airworthiness certificate expired 30th July 2009
  • Bell 206L-1 (serial 45552), previously G-OHHI – last airworthiness certificate expired 14th May 2009

Both aircraft had their G registrations cancelled yesterday, anotated as “Transferred to Canada”.  The receiving authority, Transport Canada, has yet to record them on the C- register.  Given that both have been inactive for at least two years, a wide number of different options are possible, from them being used solely as parts sources to needing a longer-term rebuild to have them flying again.
