Capital Helicopter to start aerial tours of Beijing this month

Following the approval of Citic Helicopter, Capital Helicopter becomes the second company to be approved for commercial flights. Capital Helicopter Company was formed on 24th December 2010, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Capital Aviation. The company will operate from Badaling Airport located in Yanqing County of Beijing, with two Eurocopter AS350B3 helicopters. They expect to operator for "general aviation and heavy-load transportations, such as medical aid, research & rescue, air law enforcement, oil platform support and official business purposes". Additionally, the company has announced plans to launch aerial tours of Beijing from this month, with seats priced at 1,500 yuan ($232) for 15 minutes flight.

Part of the HNA Group, Capital Helicopter is expected to expand rapidly. Parent Beijing Capital Aviation already controls 90% of the business jets in China, and is predicting to reach a fleet of 200 aircraft within five years.
