To celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary, Helicentre Aviation will be holding an Open Day on Saturday 10th September for all to enjoy!REGISTER HERE!

We’ve really settled in to Leicester Airport since our relocation from Coventry in January last year and would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come along to help us celebrate 10 years in the helicopter industry, providing quality helicopter training, charter and helicopter services.

From 9.30am our team of pilots, instructors and operations support staff will be onsite organising various exciting activities, and entertaining our guests. If you’ve thought about taking up flying, or you are already a pilot who would like to get to know us and find out more about what we do, you are most welcome to come along.

There will be hover challenges for wannabe helicopter pilots (or anyone who wants to rise to challenge and have a bit of fun!) to try their hand at flying a Schweizer 300 helicopter. Spend 5 or 10 minutes trying to get to grips with this versatile machine and see if you can hover without the help of the instructor! But beware of all those people that have been practicing on the XBOX, flight sims and RC helicopter! Hover challenges start from just £30 – take part and we will also give you the chance to receive a discount on our range of trial lessons, should you wish to take it one step further.

If you’d rather sit back an enjoy an exciting HeliBuzz flight, we will also be offering pleasure flights in the afternoon in on of our Bell 206 JetRanger helicopters! These start from just £25 when you pre-book all four seats, or £30 for an individual seat, so call us today and get your name on the list! If you’d prefer to sign up on the day, that’s not problem either, but seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

A treasure hunt will be taking place for existing private pilots, hour builders and students pilots, so brush up on your nav skills and see if you can solve the clues to find and fly to the eight locations hidden away around the Leicester area! There will be a prize for the winner who will be announced during the BBQ. The treasure hunt nav-ex will begin at 10am and we can take a maximum of ten participants, so hurry and sign up for your chance to experience this exciting challenge!

We will also be launching our Vertical Reference and Long Line Academy! Be amongst the first in the UK to participate in our specialist training programme with our VR Academy introductory sessions, available for those of you who’d like to experience a whole new way to fly. Book early to ensure you get your chance to fly an under-slung load around the airfield!

There will be a raffle which will be drawn at around 5pm – tickets can be purchased to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease, as Chairman, Chris Line will be off climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to generate some cash for this very worthy cause. You can sponsor Chris at JustGiving.com.

So why not pop along, enjoy the BBQ and chat to the Helicentre team about their flying passion. If you’re an existing student helicopter pilot then this will be a great social event to catch up with fellow students and compare notes!!
