It has been announced that British operator Bond Air Services is building a new facility on Inverness Airport Business Park, and is expecting to open its doors in November. It will then provide the base for two Eurocopter EC135s, one for the Scottish Ambulance Service, and the other for the Northern Lighthouse Board.
The Scottish Air Ambulance example is one of two Ec135s covering Scotland. Registered G-SASA and G-SASB, they alternate base between Inverness and Glasgow Heliport. The Inverness base was previously at the Airport next door to the new Business Park
The Business Park is the result of a joint venture between Highlands and Islands Airports, Moray Estates and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, with support from Highland Council.
