Here’s an interesting, and impactful story of the US legal system proving an amateur-built helicopter was both incorrectly registered and violated certain airworthiness regulations.  The potential exists for the details of this case to be felt wider in the future.  See NTSB statement and comment from Reigel Law Firm.  Actual accident referred to was N75EW , a “DM-1 helicopter” built by one David Moore – see NTSB docket
