Helicentre Aviaiton are pleased to announce that we will be launching our one-day turbine technical course on Saturday 22nd October 2011. The course will be conducted by Darren Hopper, a senior engineer with a leading maintenance company in the UK, and many years of experience in maintaining turbine engines.

The course will focus on the Allison 250 as fitted to the Bell 206 JetRanger and Hughes 500 helicopters. Darren will be providing a complete run-down of how the engine works and will bring with him parts of the engine for close examination in the classroom, so that we can literally “get inside” the engine.

The course will also cover common faults and pilot mis-handling problems. We are not aware of this course or anything similar having been run before and it is therefore a must-attend for everyone who flies helicopters fitted with the Allison 250 engine. More information about the course can be found here…
