Colombia’s National Police has ordered three Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawks, according to Infodefensa.com

The helicopters will be operated by the Anti-Narcotics Police Directorate for use in detection and monitoring missions derived from drug trafficking activities.  Deliveries are scheduled from January 2012.

The three were purchased by the Colombian military under a “Special Projects” budget category.  There are no reports on how this is being managed through the US military FMS (Foreign Military Sale) process, and no relevant notice has been posted by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency – the office responsible for FMS announcements.
