Bell awarded $56M for long-lead parts for UH-1Y and AH-1Z

Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $56,750,000 advance acquisition contract to provide long lead parts and components required for the manufacture of Lot 10 UH-1Y (15) and AH-1Z (13) helicopters for the Marine Corps in support of the H-1 upgrade program.  Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (60 percent), and Amarillo, Texas (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2013.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-1.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-12-C-0009).
