12 Apr, 12Derco Repair Services, Inc. – a Sikorsky Aerospace Services Avionics Center of Excellence (ACoE) – today announced the addition of an Intermittent Fault Detection & Isolation System (IFDIS) that helps to easily identify and isolate intermittent faults in customers' aircraft electrical components. IFDIS technology offers enhanced service capabilities and provides maintenance solutions that increase safety, reduce cost and extend the service life of existing components. Derco Repair Services, Inc. is part of Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) – the aftermarket company of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
"We are excited to invest in this cutting edge repair equipment," said Mike Gajewski, SAS ACoE Technical Sales Manager. "Traditionally, aircraft maintainers have scrapped electrical components where the source of intermittent faults could not be identified. IFDIS's capability to easily detect faulty aircraft electrical components offers our commercial and military customers a savings in both time and money while improving aircraft availability. Defective components can be repaired and expedited back into reliable service – at a fraction of replacement costs."
