Spidertracks announces partnership with DFS in Germany

Spidertracks has announced a partnership with Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) in Germany. On April 6, 2012, spidertracks signed with DFS, making them the official distributors of spidertracks throughout Europe.

DFS are in charge of air traffic control for Germany and create navigational charts for parts of Europe. Their partnership with spidertracks also extends to cooperation over system developments, specific to the demands of the European market, and will increase resellers’ channels in Europe.

Spidertracks is a world leader in active tracking, and will grant pilots throughout Europe advanced tracking capabilities including: automatic flight following (AFF), real-time situational awareness, geofence capabilities, automatically programmed notification messaging for take off and landing, automated SOS messaging and two way SMS messaging using Bluetooth enabled units giving pilots the ability to send texts or emails via satellite from beyond mobile or radio coverage.

Jan-Eric Putze, aeronautical sales manager at DFS, praises the capabilities spidertracks will bring to the European aviation market, “Spidertracks creates totally new opportunities for communication between the cockpit and the outside world, whether for business or general aviation.”

Spidertracks VP of sales, Luke McCarthy, is confident the partnership with generate greater opportunities for spidertracks and their customers throughout Europe, “DFS will advance our market reach throughout Europe, allowing us to connect with customers in this region, to provide more direct, personalized services.”

Spidertracks will be at AERO Friedrichshafen – the global show for general aviation – as part of the DFS booth at Messe Friedrichshafen, Germany. The DFS exhibit will be in hall A5, booth #219 with Mr. McCarthy on site as the spidertracks representative.
