Professional Resources In System Management, LLC (PRISM) is pleased to report the completion of a three-day Safety Management System (SMS) course in conjunction with the Rotary Wing Society of India (RWSI). The course took place in New Delhi, India and focused on the Four Pillars of SMS, safety culture, just culture, decision making, SMS risk assessments, procedural non-compliance, and emergency preparedness as well as numerous tips and guidance for implementation.

Thirty representatives of India’s active helicopter industry, including members from all of their military branches, the Director of General Civil Aviation, RWSI staff and numerous operators, attended the SMS course. “This was a very interactive session including lively discussions between the attendees, with an emphasis on sharing best practices,” reports Dave Huntzinger, PRISM Senior Vice President of Helicopter Aviation Services and the course instructor.

“We are seeing increased interest among companies around the world looking to better their SMS program,” said Bill Yantiss, PRISM Executive Vice President. “In the first quarter of 2012 we have sent our PRISM training instructors to 14 locations and have more in the books.”
