28 May, 12The Government of Sindh, one of Pakistan's four provinces, previously operated a Bell LongRanger and 412, which were withdrawn in 2010 and 2009 respectively due to required overhaul costs - both had been acquired new in 1992. The government has now decided the cost of a new helicopter, maintenance etc would be much higher, and they have instead budgeted to rent an unnamed type of helicopter for the annual fee of 496 million Pakistani rupees, or US $5.403 millon in today's money.
