The new headquarters building for Cornwall Air Ambulance was opened yesterday by the Duchess of Cornwall.  It is the first time in the UK that the fundraising and admin side of an air ambulance charity has been co-located with the operational side of the helicopter – the new hangar can hold two helicopters and is on the southern boundary of Newquay Cornwall Airport.

The event was on the last day of a three-day tour of the county by Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.  While he is better known as Prince Charles, he holds a number of other titles including Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall.

A TV news clip can be seen here depicting the new headquarters building.

Cornwall Air Ambulance flies a 2001 Eurocopter EC135 approx 500 hours a year, and is provide to them by Bond Air Services under contract.
