30 Jul, 12Barnhart-Balfour Beatty, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded firm-fixed-price task order 0004 at $35,497,794 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62473-10-D-5407) for the replacement of an existing double hangar. This consists of the demolition of the existing hangar and construction of a new two bay hangar to accommodate MV-22 aircraft with adequate space to support maintenance at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton. The planned modification, if issued, provides for furniture, fixtures, and equipment. The contract contains options, which, if exercised, will bring the total value of the contract to $35,675,955. Work will be performed in Oceanside, Calif., and is expected to be completed by August 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Nine proposals were received for this task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
