Latitude Technologies announced that the company has hired Brad Head as their new Vice President of Technology.  Head will be responsible for providing architectural definition and technical leadership on all software and data services for Latitude.  His role will enable him to work on maximizing current software and data management systems for customers and also work on future software and data analytics development.

“Brad adds more than 20 years of product development and technological innovation to our team,” said Latitude Technologies President, Mark Insley. “He is highly regarded for his ability to integrate software into useable data that improves efficiencies and operations. His efforts have resulted in the creation of standards in the transportation and health care sectors in Canada and now he is bringing that experience to Latitude.”

“I have known Mark Insley and Tim Curtis for more than a decade and admire how they have built Latitude Technologies into a world-class satellite data and voice communications company,” said Head.  “We have worked together on other projects in the past, and I am looking forward to working with the Latitude team in developing primary and advanced flight data management and processing solutions driven by Latitude’s new IONode FDM platform.  The IONode has the ability to capture infinite amounts of data.  My role will be to leverage that data to find new and innovative ways for Latitude’s growing customer base to manage their fleets more efficiently and cost effectively.  I come from an enterprise background and I understand the power and potential of data in making better, more well-informed business and operational decisions.”

Prior to joining Latitude Technologies, Head worked on solution architecture as an Enterprise Architect for the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation.   He oversaw the creation of an architecture and standards group, which subsequently was responsible for the Ministry’s enterprise information technology strategy.

Head also improved operational and outcome efficiencies within the health care industry in Canada – developing systems and software solutions that deliver results in this fast-paced and demanding industry.  His past experience includes working as a Senior Solutions Architect for Hewlett-Packard and as Technology Director for Sierra Systems on behalf of the BC Ministry of Health, Vancouver Island Health Authority, Yukon Health, and Canada Health Infoway.  Among Head’s accomplishments was development of $35 million dollar system that created information standards in the public health care industry across Canada.

“My entire career has been defined by engaging technology to solve business problems,” said Head.  “The aviation industry is the same as other industries.  The more useful data you have the better you can run your operation.  With their new hardware and software developments, Latitude has the technology and the solutions to provide this information to our customers in a range of manageable and useful formats.  The beauty of our flight data solutions is the embedded flexibility that allows us to customize solutions for our customers based on their specific data requirements.” concluded Head.
