Following on from the success of the recent meeting in Albuquerque, N.M., the New Mexico Helicopter Safety Seminar is set to become an annual event. More than 50 pilots attended the Nov. 14 seminar where they received the very latest information on the safety issues facing the rotorcraft industry, presented by some of the top industry experts in their field.

Bob Martin, HAI ENG Committee; and JD Huss, FAASTeam representative, organized the event. Speakers included Stan Rose, HAI’s director of Safety; a representative from the NTSB; and speakers from the local air traffic control agencies. Local issues affecting helicopter pilots, accident trends, personal risk assessment, safety initiatives, and many more topics were discussed.
