Members of Oil & Gas UK’s Board today (Wednesday 5 December) met with senior representatives from Eurocopter in Aberdeen. Eurocopter had been invited to update the group on their investigation into the main bevel gear shaft failures, which led to two ditching incidents earlier in the year.

Eurocopter has been carrying out extensive testing of components and advised they were making progress in identifying the cause of the failure. Eurocopter also outlined their commitment to identifying a solution which allows a safe return to flying for the EC225.
