Russian Helicopters takes honours in New Verst awards

Russian Helicopters, part of state defence holding Oboronprom and a leading global designer and manufacturer of helicopters, announces that it was among the winners in the second New Verst awards, an annual contest organized by Gudok newspaper and Pult Upravleniya magazine to recognize the best annual reports and websites among companies in the transport sector.

The awards ceremony was held on 6 December in Moscow during the Russian Transport international forum, the keynote event in the Russian Ministry of Transport’s Transport Week 2012.

Russian Helicopters won in the categories for:

  • Best idea for an annual report, design and printing
  • Best level of disclosure for clients on a company website
  • Best design and navigation of a company website

Russian Helicopters operates based on principles of transparency and aims to make information as accessible as possible to a broad audience including clients, potential partners, investors and analysts, the media, helicopter enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in the achievements of the Russian aviation industry.

The official website of Russian Helicopters, www.russianhelicopters.aero, is the company’s principal information resource on the internet, and covers the entire Russian helicopter-building industry.

The site contains information in three languages – Russian, English and Spanish – about the structure of Russian Helicopters and its subsidiaries. Partners and potential clients can view the current line-up of Russian-built helicopters, and can reach out via the site to regional sales managers.

Investors and analysts can access the Company’s charter documents, important announcements and disclosures of the Company’s financial results to IFRS.
The website also contains information for a wider audience about developments in the sector and at the company. The Publications section includes recently published articles from a variety of media sources.

Thirty-three companies took part in New Verst from across the transportation sector – freight and passenger carriers, infrastructure and service providers, equipment producers for the transport and transport-construction sectors, and transportation and equipment leasing companies.

New Verst is an annual awards ceremony that recognises the best annual reports and corporate websites, and aims to increase the level of transparency and advance best practices in corporate reporting. The first awards were organised by Pult Upravleniya magazine and Gudok newspaper in 2011 among freight shipping, infrastructure, production and service companies. Some 20 firms took part, with 10 winning or being recognised by the judges in various categories.

Russian Helicopters, JSC is a subsidiary of UIC Oboronprom, which in turn is a part of Russian Technologies State Corporation. It is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters is headquartered in Moscow. UIC Oboronprom, JSC is a multi-profile industrial and investment group established in 2002. It is a part of Russian Technologies State Corporation. Its main tasks include: helicopter engineering (Russian Helicopters, JSC) and engine-building (United Engine Industry Corporation managing company).

Russian Technologies State Corporation was established in 2007 to support Russian industry in developing, producing and exporting high-tech industrial products for civil and military use. The Corporation includes 663 companies, currently organised into 12 defence holdings and five holdings for civil industries. The Corporation has a presence in 60 of Russia’s regions, and exports its products to 70 countries. Russian Technologies State Corporation is headed by Sergei Chemezov. In 2011 the Corporation had net income of RUB 1.55 billion, and paid RUB 100 billion into budgets of all levels.
