Mark Campolong of Airexcell in Pennsylvania sold a MD902 Explorer to Ascent Helicopters of Parksville, BC Canada. This is the first MD902 certified by Transport Canada to operate in Canada. The helicopter will be used for a variety of applications, including utility work in B.C. and across Western Canada.

The MD902 has proven to be a formidable helicopter. Previously, it has been widely used for Police and Medevac Operations, but has now found a niche in the utility market. The Explorer’s high useful load and excellent One Engine Out (OEI) performance are essential operational and safety features for utility customers.

Ascent Helicopters owner Trent Lemke and Mark Campolong of Airexcell worked several months to find the right MD902 Explorer for the job. The SP-IFR Explorer purchased was lightened and upgraded with barrier filters and hoist at the factory. Ascent insists on having the safest and best equipped aircraft available
