Universal Helicopters (UHI), a leader in helicopter flight training, Night Flight Concepts (NFC), the leading provider of comprehensive night vision solutions, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, the world’s oldest and most prestigious aeronautical university and Dodge City Community College (DC3) are pleased to announce new training alliance to bring collegiate level NVG programs to the southwest. “Dodge City Community College is proud to be associated with Universal Helicopters and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in this historic endeavor to provide opportunity to our students. Established in 2000, Universal Helicopters is a leader in flight training recognized for their quality and extraordinary flight safety record, with 6 campuses, located in the states of Arizona, California, Kansas and Utah, Universal is approaching 10 years without an accident. With safety as a top priority and after much research into NVG providers and capabilities, UHI president, Gordon Jiroux determined that NFC offered the right mix of expertise, systems, products and services to best complement our operation and help us serve the region. “A new partnership between UHI and NFC will provide enhanced, direct regional NVG support to customers within the western region,” noted NFC President, Adam Aldous”. The new NVG training programs for the region will be based at the Universal Helicopters Center of Excellence facility in Prescott, based at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. prescott.erau.edu

As part of UHI’s NVG program and Dodge City Community College (DC3) Flight Instructor Degree Program www.dc3.edu, UHI & DC3 use Night Flight Concepts Computer Based Ground Training (CBT) to deliver a comprehensive and convenient NVG ground training course platform. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University will provide NVG academic support to their students, with comprehensive face to face ground training at its’ Prescott Campus. This new and exciting program will allow interested students to put into practice, what they are learning in the classroom about Night Vision Operations, and increase their safety, and the safety of the traveling public.

Through a continual rigorous NVG training regime of its NVG instructors, Universal Helicopters will provide the same high-quality NVG training products and services that its clients have come to expect. UHI personnel are qualified as NVG instructors through an approved Instructor Pilot (IP) program. In addition, Night Flight Concepts will conduct annual IP training and periodic on-site audits to maintain the high-quality of the NFC/NVG product and service offerings.

Universal Helicopters will offer NVG pilot training in the Robinson R44 Raven II IFR helicopter at the Prescott, AZ location.”
