Technisonic Industries Ltd. is offering a new radio module at Heli-Expo 2013 that gives aircraft operators a cost-efficient means of accessing the 225-400 MHz frequency band used by U.S. federal agencies, military services and their contractors.
A leader in the development, manufacture and support of special-mission airborne communications systems, Technisonic is offering the new 225-400 MHz module for its configurable, multi-band TDFM-7300 and its TDFM-9000 series of analog/digital, encrypted, trunked, multi-band airborne transceivers. Both of those airborne FM transceivers are Project 25-compliant. The new module also can be combined with other frequency requirements.
“The new 225-400 MHz module demonstrates Technisonic’s commitment to developing new and innovative ideas and products that meet all the unique and varied operational requirements of our customers,” said Jim Huddock, Manager of Business Development, Federal/Military at Technisonic. “It allows our customers to pay for only the capability they need from a supplier who has experience and expertise in military and federal markets.”
Technisonic is displaying the new 225-400MHz module and other new products March 5-7 at Booth N1922 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during Heli-Expo 2013.
To access the 225-400 MHz frequency band in the past, aircraft operators had two options. They could install heavy AN/ARC-182 VHF/UHF AM/FM transceivers or opt for more expensive transceivers that covered more frequency bands than those required in the target market of U.S. federal and military airborne operations. The equipment available through those options also uses technology much older than that incorporated in Technisonic’s latest designs.
