Dr. Matthew Jackson was named the Bell Helicopter Professor of Engineering.  His appointment will begin in 2013 and end in 2015.  Dr. Jackson presented a current research project at the Endowed Professorships and Chairs Convocation on February 20, 2013.  The School of Engineering and Computer Science would like to thank Bell Helicopter for their continued support and dedication to West Texas A&M University.

Dr. Emily Hunt, pictured at right, has been recommended for a promotion to the rank of Professor of Mechanical Engineering.  Dr.  Emily Hunt has previously received the Young Investigator Award from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), a part of the Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Strategic Command. She received the award for her project on “Energetic Nano-Materials for Bio-Agent Defeat”.  She has also published a book, “Engineering Elephants,” which is available via most online book sellers.
