Student Day at the 2013 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2013) will feature a panel of industry leaders who will speak about career opportunities in business aviation. Students from aviation schools around Europe have been invited to attend “Business Aviation as a Career: Build Your Future Now,” set for 9:30 a.m. on May 23.

“We’ve organized this seminar so that students can get current and reliable information about our industry,” said Belarmino Paradela, senior manager of economics and operational duties at the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), who will be moderating the event. “One of our goals is to let them see the opportunities that our field can offer them. We want business aviation to be one of their top career choices.”

Invited panelists include Robert Whitehead of Jet Aviation, Emma O’Donnell of Oxford Aviation Academy and Markus Blattner of TAG Aviation.

Paradela said an expected shortage of business aircraft pilots was one of the reasons behind the Student Day, but added that other industry segments are also welcome.

“Last year, we focused mainly on opportunities for pilots,” he said. “This year we will include flight support, engineers, maintenance – every other group involved in the operation of a business aircraft. The idea is to have an open panel discussion where everyone can ask questions about the industry.”

After the education session, students will be invited to walk the exhibit hall floor in the afternoon and speak to Exhibitors.

EBACE, jointly hosted each year by NBAA and EBAA, is the premier annual meeting place for the European business aviation community. This three-day event, which this year runs May 21 to 23 in Geneva, Switzerland, features exhibits, a static display of aircraft and education sessions at the Palexpo convention center and Geneva International Airport.
