Keith Ray and Mike Sela have joined the growing rotorcraft sales and support team at BLR Aerospace, the company announced today. Ray, a 30-year aviation industry veteran, has been named commercial helicopter segment champion.  Ray is responsible for sales of the company’s rotorcraft products, most notably the FastFin® Tail Rotor Enhancement and Stability System, to the commercial marketplace. Additionally, Mike Sela has a new role at BLR and is now responsible for all aspects of commercial rotorcraft customer service and support, including responding to technical questions, requests for quotes and other inquiries. Both report to Vice President of Sales and Marketing Dave Marone.

“Keith and Mike have excellent experience and high levels of credibility and expertise with the Bell Medium Community,” Marone said. “We could not be happier to have them in these strategically important roles.”

Ray previously served for 22 years as sales and marketing manager for Bell Helicopter’s Aeronautical Accessories organization, honing his skills in commercial business development, worldwide distribution, and global account base management for fleet and OEM sales. Ray’s 30-plus-year career began as a UH-1H crew chief in the U.S. Army.

Sela has been with BLR since 2010, previously serving in a technical support role, performing FastFin and Winglet System installations and training customers in the field.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a CH-53 crew chief during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Marone said Sela’s dedication to achievement and customer service excellence are strong assets to BLR.

Available for multiple Bell Medium helicopters, the FastFin System includes two parallel stall strips, known as Dual Tail Boom Strakes, on the tail boom and a reshaped vertical fin. FastFin optimizes air¬flow around the tail boom, dramatically improving tail rotor efficiency and wind azimuth tolerance. With FastFin installed, most operators realize between a 10 and 90 percent increase in useful load depending on specific model and density altitude. More than 600 FastFin Systems have been sold to operators performing a range of missions worldwide, and Bell Helicopter installs the system at the factory as standard equipment on new Bell 412 EPs.
