HAI officially threw the doors of its new international headquarters open on Monday, June 24, with a ribbon cutting and welcome reception.

HAI President Matt Zuccaro was joined by Alexandria, Va., Mayor William Euille and members of both the current board of directors and the board that approved the building purchase for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In his remarks prior to cutting the ribbon, Zuccaro thanked everyone involved in making the move to the new facility possible, from the board of directors who approved buying the new building, to the architects and contractors who designed and prepared the new offices, to the staff — especially those who oversaw the move from the old headquarters offices to the new.

Mayor Euille thanked and praised HAI for deciding to remain in Alexandria, which the association has called home for 30 years, and where it will now remain for at least the next 20 to 30 years.

Zuccaro pointed out that HAI’s new headquarters is really the members’ new headquarters. The facility was designed with visiting members in mind. There are guest offices available and several conference rooms where members with business in Washington can host meetings. There’s also a multi-purpose classroom where members can host training sessions. To reserve facilities, simply contact HAI member services. While drop-ins are always welcome, letting HAI know you’re coming in advance of your arrival can help avoid scheduling conflicts.
