Air Comm Corporation (Heli Expo Booth 2802) has received FAA-STC approval for the tail boom condenser version of their popular Airbus AS350 Air Conditioner. In addition to their standard configuration, which locates the condenser in the right hand baggage bay, the tail boom-located configuration provides an additional option for operators needing to maximize baggage space or shift CG toward the tail.

The Tail Boom condenser features a direct flow air path and dual high performance 6-inch brushless vane axial blowers. During the design phase, Air Comm made extensive use of their state-of-the-art environmental control test lab facility in Carrolton, TX to insure that the new configuration would offer performance unmatched in the industry.  “Air Comm is dedicated to providing leading edge products for our customers that perform like we say they will, and exceed our customers’ expectations,” said Jim Byrnes, Project Engineer for the AS-350 program.  “We approach environmental control, thermal, and air management problems in a very scientific, engineering-oriented manner, and lab testing to confirm performance is critical to our process.”

The new system configuration was developed to satisfy customer demand.  By working closely with their existing customer base, Air Comm was able to develop the configuration to provide maximum performance and dedicated cockpit and cabin cooling in a weight and power-optimized package.   The configuration also features a unique baggage extender as an option.

Customers can also take advantage of Air Comm’s unmatched customer support, featuring five full-time customer support representatives, online technical manuals, and 24/7 phone support.

Air Comm Corporation leads the industry in environmental control solutions for general aviation and military rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft.   In combination with their Addison, TX facility (formerly Meggitt Addison, Keith Products), Air Comm supplies environmental control systems for a wide range of OEM and aftermarket customers, including AgustaWestland, Airbus Helicopter, Bell Helicopter,  Enstrom Helicopter, MD Helicopter, Sikorsky Aircraft, the US Army, and the US Navy .  The company is ISO9000/AS-9100 certified.
