FlightSafety International announces that it will offer training for the Sikorsky S-92 in São Paulo, Brazil. Training using a new Level D qualified full flight simulator is expected to begin in Q3 2014.

“Offering training for the Sikorsky S-92 in São Paulo demonstrates our commitment to support Sikorsky and to provide Customers with the highest quality training in locations that are convenient for our Customers.” said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO.

The Sikorsky S-92 full flight simulator will be equipped with FlightSafety’s latest advances in technology including the recently introduced VITAL 1100 visual system and Crewview glass mirror optical system. VITAL 1100 offers unprecedented fidelity and significantly enhances training by providing mission-specific imagery with vastly improved scene content, environmental effects, dynamic shadowing, enhanced shading, and unprecedented levels of detail.

The Crewview glass mirror enhances visual clarity and brightness while eliminating image degradation and distortion in the critical boundary areas inherent in many traditional display systems. This enhances imagery of near ground operations and provides increased fields of view more consistent with the actual out of window views of the helicopter. It also allows for expanded field of view up to 310 degrees horizontal and offers the ability to customize the up look and down look views to reflect a specific aircraft type.

FlightSafety has served as the factory authorized training provider for Sikorsky since 1983. Training for the Sikorsky S-70/UH-60, S-76A, S-76B, S-76 C, S-76C+, S-76C++, S-76D, and S-92 aircraft is available at FlightSafety Learning Centers in Dallas, Texas; Lafayette, Louisiana; the Farnborough Airport, United Kingdom; Stavanger, Norway; and West Palm Beach, Florida. Training for maintenance technicians who support Sikorsky helicopters is also available in Brisbane, Australia; and West Palm Beach.

FlightSafety also provides training for helicopters manufactured by AgustaWestland, Bell Helicopter, and Airbus, as well as mission specific training programs for other aircraft types.
