LORD Corporation, a leader in the management of vibration, noise and motion control, announces that AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, decided to proceed with the qualification of the new OMNI AVC system on AW’s aircrafts.

AVCS technology operates through the use of accelerometers that measure aircraft vibration levels. Signals are sent to a centralized computer that runs a software algorithm that interprets the data and sends commands to force generators located throughout the aircraft. These force generators create “anti-vibration” that stops the progression of vibration due to the main rotor. Qualification of the system is currently being finalized.

AgustaWestland has enjoyed great success across multiple platforms and demonstrated proven capabilities in multiple role configurations, including EMS/SAR, VIP/Passenger Transport and Offshore applications. The entire AgustaWestland product range is recognized for outstanding Hot and High performance as well as multirole mission capability and these applications demand optimum levels of comfort, combined with low vibration and noise levels. The OMNI AVC system also provides additional benefits in terms of weight saving and installation flexibility.
