Vector Aerospace UK (Vector), a leading provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services recently hosted a customer day at its impressive Almondbank facility in Perth. The event showcased the growing capabilities offered at the site – including a new composite repair facility, completed on 4 April – all of which are set to deliver a strategic shift in the company’s commercial offering as it continues with its successful expansion into the civil sector.

A wide range of aerospace customers and local dignitaries (including the Lady Provost of Perth) joined representatives from Scottish Enterprise in a tour of the facility before enjoying the delights of a formal dinner at Scone Palace.

“Almondbank is currently characterised by growth”, said Mick O’Connor, Director of Component Services at Almondbank. “Regardless of the criteria you focus on – whether it is capability, where our offering in terms of components, composites, landing gear and propellers continues to expand apace; personnel, where we have recruited more than 30 new employees in the last 12 months; or customers, where we have recently received inaugural orders from a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and global airlines – there is a clear sense that the services we offer here are not only in demand, but are set to expand in the future”.

“It is great to see Almondbank flourishing”, said Michael Tyrrell, Managing Director for Vector Aerospace UK. “The site’s growing commercial offering, in conjunction with the comprehensive range of helicopter services in place at our Fleetland’s facility in Gosport, underlines the unique breadth and depth of experience available to customers of Vector Aerospace UK”.
