PZL-Świdnik and AGH University of Science and Technology Sign Cooperation Agreement

The AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and PZL-Świdnik, an AgustaWestland company, the key employer in the Polish aviation sector and one of the leaders in delivering state-of-the-art aerospace solutions, have signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement will be based primarily on joint projects and scientific research in the field of developing cutting-edge technologies, as well as the education of future generations of engineers. The main beneficiaries of the cooperation will be AGH’s students and graduates and employees of both the University and PZL-Świdnik. The agreement involves the organisation of training and internships for AGH’s students and graduates and support in the research work of undergraduate and PhD students as well as University employees. Another important point of the agreement is the exchange of employees between AGH and PZL-Świdnik for training purposes and the joint organisation of scientific conferences and seminars. Active participation in the cooperation between the partners will earn the best students generous scholarships.

Commenting on the agreement signing ceremony, Nicola Bianco, Managing Director, PZL-Świdnik said: – We acknowledge AGH’s substantial contribution to the Polish aviation sector and ongoing Polish scientific development and we are delighted that PZL-Świdnik will be involved in the transfer of technical expertise and know-how to Poland’s future engineers.

Mieczysław Majewski, President of the Management Board, PZL-Świdnik added,
– With over 60 years of aeronautical experience, PZL-Świdnik has proven its capabilities to develop and promote new technologies and innovative aerospace solutions all over the world. We are confident that together with our new partner we will be able to further enhance the Polish aviation industry, thus enabling the Polish economy to grow.”

Professor Tomasz Szmuc, AGH UST Vice-Rector for Cooperation, said – We are very pleased with making our cooperation official. By joining the ranks of nearly 300 of our industrial partners, PZL-Świdnik will become one of the most interesting development opportunities for our students and research staff.
