Heliplanners is pleased to announce that Caltrans Division of Aeronautics has conducted its final inspection and issued its Heliport Permit for the recently completed rooftop heliport at Scripps Memorial Hospital’s new Critical Care Building in Encinitas, California. The heliport will help to improve rapid medical access for Scripps’ patients throughout San Diego County and the surrounding area. It was built to accommodate helicopters as large as the Sikorsky S-76. The Critical Care Building is scheduled to open in June 2014. Heliplanners worked with Scripps Health Facilities Design & Construction and with its direct client, Perkins+Will, architect, throughout the project. The firm assisted with design issues and guided the project through FAA and Caltrans Division of Aeronautics reviews.

Heliplanners, Inc., established in 1987, has been in business for 27 years. During this time they have been involved with site selection, feasibility, planning, permitting, and design for over 200 heliports throughout the U.S. and abroad. The firm is based in Temecula, California.
