Columbia Helicopters is pleased to name Mike Brunner as the company’s new Vice President of Supply Chain and Manufacturing. He will begin work for the company in mid-July.

Brunner joins Columbia Helicopters with a diverse and deep background in supply chain, manufacturing, military aircraft maintenance, leadership, and international business. Most recently, he has been with Radisys Corporation working in Malaysia, where he has been leading business operations including responsibility for staff, supply chain, manufacturing, and factory performance.

“We welcome Mike to our team and his focus on improving our supply chain system,” said Stan Wilson, President of Columbia Helicopters. “Mike has had significant leadership training over his career and enjoys using his focus as a leader on teamwork, collaboration and achieving results.”

Brunner’s long history and background in military operations and aircraft maintenance are equally impressive. His involvement in the military began in 1985 as an Avionics Maintenance Technician; and, during the last 8 years, he held the position of Operations Officer for the 142nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron as a Major in the Oregon Air National Guard based in Portland, Oregon. Although Brunner currently works in Malaysia, he and his family have resided in Oregon since 2005.

“We created the position of Vice President of Supply Chain and Manufacturing to put increased focus and commitment on this area,” added Wilson. “We expect that Mike will also help transition many of the supply-chain areas that are currently led by Pete Lance, our Executive Vice President, who is retiring at the end of
September.”

Columbia Helicopters owns, operates and maintains the world’s largest privately-held fleet of heavy-lift helicopters. Today, Columbia Helicopters uses its aircraft to fight wildland fires, support petroleum exploration operations in remote parts of the world, conducts flights in support of the U.S. military and coalition forces in Afghanistan, provides aerial crane services to the construction industry, and conducts logging operations in the
United States and Canada. The company’s fleet includes six active Columbia Model 234 Chinook helicopters, and 14 active Columbia Vertol 107-II aircraft. Columbia Helicopters has also recently acquired five surplus CH- 47D helicopters from the U.S. government.

Equally, the company has expanded its own internal FAA-certified maintenance program into providing external customer maintenance for military helicopter operators around the world.
