The National EMS Pilots Association (NEMSPA) is pleased to announce that Kurt Williams has been appointed as their nextacting President.Williams is a former military aviator with nearly 30 years of aviation experience, a Lead Pilot and Air Medical Resource Management Instructor currently employed with PHI Air Medical Group and holds an MBA from The University of Missouri.  Williams formerly served on the NEMSPA board of directors for over 2 years.

“I’m excited for the opportunity” said Williams, “NEMSPA has several major projects in the works that we feel will greatly enhance the safety of the Helicopter EMS industry and I’m eager for the opportunity to help see themto completion.”

Since 2006 NEMSPA has been instrumental in advancing weather reporting for the HEMS industry through its efforts with the FAA and National Center of Atmospheric Research (NCAR) on the HEMS Weather Tool.  In 2014 NEMSPA was instrumental in keeping the HEMS weather tool online and continues to spearhead work with several government and industry groups to advance and update this valuable weather reporting system.   “The HEMS weather tool is an invaluable resource used by a large majority of our industry as well as other commercial and general aviation pilots across the country” said Williams, “It is vital to keep this program available and advance it to its forgone conclusion of becoming a fully functioning go no-go decision making tool for all pilots.”
