Polish-produced W-3PL helicopters demo capabilities at European military exercise

PZL-Świdnik, an AgustaWestland company, is pleased to announce that two Świdnik-produced W-3PL Głuszec helicopters, in service with the Polish Land Forces, are successfully demonstrating their combat support capabilities during the Combined Joint Personnel Recovery Standardisation Course (CJPRSC) that is being held in Florennes, Belgium.

PZL-Świdnik, an AgustaWestland company, is pleased to announce that two Świdnik-produced W-3PL Głuszec helicopters, in service with the Polish Land Forces, are successfully demonstrating their combat support capabilities during the Combined Joint Personnel Recovery Standardisation Course (CJPRSC) that is being held in Florennes, Belgium.

The CJPRSC, organised by the European Air Group (EAG) for eight years now, is a unique European military training course which aims at strengthening Armed Forces’ capabilities in the field of planning and executing Personnel Recovery missions. The course is designed to equip all its participants with the tactics and techniques required to successfully perform missions within a dynamic multi-national military environment. The CJPRSC brought together 400 personnel from 11 countries and involved a total of 23 helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
Polish Armed Forces were well represented with four helicopter participating comprising two W-3PL Głuszec and two Mi-24 Hind helicopters which provided close combat support during the exercise.
The W-3PL Głuszec, which is a result of close and successful collaboration between PZL-Świdnik, the Polish R&D sector and the Armed Forces, is the most recent and modern in-service combat version of PZL-Świdnik’s flagship product, the PZL Sokół.

The first four W-3PL Głuszec helicopters were delivered to the Polish Land Forces in December 2010. PZL-Świdnik has also signed a contract for the upgrade of an additional four Sokół helicopters to W-3PL configuration which are currently being completed at the Swidnik facility.
With the Głuszec programme tailored to meet the Polish Land Forces demanding requirements and over
150 Świdnik-produced helicopters already in service with the Polish Armed Forces, the Company is playing a key role in satisfying the country’s military helicopter requirements leveraging on its unique and extensive rotorcraft research, design, development and manufacturing capabilities.
The W-3PL Głuszec is a cost-effective helicopter platform, which can be fitted with advanced avionics and mission equipment that enable the aircraft to perform missions ranging from combat support and armed attack through to SAR and troop transport. The aircraft can be fitted with a wide range of weapon systems supporting the end users’ requirements on the battlefield.
